Considering how incredible we know the casting department is, do we dismiss the fact that instead of casting some thick, rugged, dark, scruffy guy as Daniel, they cast this clean-shaven, pretty-faced, light-eyed, somewhat lighter-haired effeminate beauty?
Okay, maybe it’s meaningless, but he is very pretty isn’t he? I’m not saying she’s his reincarnation, but I am saying if Regina has a specific type, Emma isn’t necessarily excluded from it.

Evil isn’t born; it’s made.
I’ve made my monster.
We’ve had quite a few characters labeled as ‘monsters’ recently: Cora, Regina, Rumple, Franken!Daniel and Ruby. If you tie this label in with Season 1’s adage “Evil isn’t born, it’s made” and take a good look at these characters suddenly you find yourself watching what the writers have decide actually ‘makes’ evil.
Wow that’s very insightful. About Emma - perhaps she still remains ‘good’ despite the shitty hand she’s been dealt with is because she grew up in the ‘real world’ - a place that allows a person to overcome the path to monstrosity and find another path - simply because in our world we realise there is a place between good and evil. I mean why does Regina say this land is the fairest of them all?
